Mission
At Everyday Family Eats, our mission is to provide readers with original, high-quality, repeatable, and family-oriented recipes meant for the everyday home cook. Here's how we ensure we deliver on that promise:
Originality + Authenticity
Every recipe you find here is created by me, Kelli Avila. Drawing from my professional culinary career, each recipe is a labor of love. If I draw inspiration from a direct source, I cite it accordingly. I write all of my own recipes and corresponding articles, as well as capture and edit my own photos and videos. Each and every single piece of content on Everyday Family Eats has been created by me and only me.
Expertise
With a lifelong career in the culinary world, including extensive experience working in various kitchens and bakeries across the Boston area, and a degree from the Culinary Arts program at Boston University, I bring real expertise to creating recipes that go beyond the ordinary. Furthermore, as a mother to two young kids with hectic schedules, I fully understand the challenges of putting a meal on the table, especially for picky eaters. But what truly distinguishes the expertise I bring to my recipes is my insatiable curiosity. The more I learn about cooking, the more I discover there is to learn. I'm consistently driven to improve my culinary understanding and mastery through continuous learning and research. I will only use an ingredient or technique if it serves a purpose.
Extensive Research and Testing
Before testing, I research the recipe's history and draft it using my experience and trusted sources (always cited when used). Each recipe undergoes rigorous testing, usually at least three times, but often more than that. I strive to make as many mistakes while creating the recipe so I can help you avoid them. Additionally, I test recipes with various brands of ingredients and cooking equipment when possible to ensure reliability and consistency. Even after publication, I frequently revisit recipes to ensure they remain error-free, well-written, and easy to replicate. I'll only publish a new recipe once it's perfected.
Quality
Recipes are meticulously edited by myself and an outside highly qualified editor for consistency and accuracy before publication. The content is supposed to be fun and opinionated and, most of the time, based on my personal experience, but we always strive to uphold the highest editorial and factual standards. And if I make a mistake, I take it seriously, own up to it, and fix it ASAP.
Continuous Improvement
The recipes on this website are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure accuracy, relevance, and quality. The content is periodically updated and sometimes changed when it no longer conforms to the current editorial standards. If there’s a version of a recipe that you’re seeking on Everyday Family Eats that you can no longer find, please email me at hello@everydayfamilyeats.com, and I’ll do my best to get you an archival copy. And all earnest feedback and suggestions are always taken seriously.
Artificial Intelligence Policy
At Everyday Family Eats, we value the human touch in everything we create. You won't find any AI-generated content here—just original bespoke writing, recipes, photos, and videos crafted by me for fellow humans. To ensure the highest quality, I do utilize a grammar plug-in that is assisted by AI to help catch spelling and grammar errors, but rest assured, the creative process remains firmly in human hands and always will.
Inclusivity, Adaptability, and Disability Policy
At Everyday Family Eats, we unapologetically believe that good food is for everyone, and we're committed to making our recipes accessible and inclusive. We strive to celebrate our diverse humanity and avoid cultural appropriation in our recipes. We'll always suggest variations and substitutions to accommodate different dietary preferences and restrictions when possible. Plus, we're constantly working to ensure our website is accessible to individuals with disabilities by providing alternative formats, such as text descriptions for images, and ensuring compatibility with screen readers, prioritizing clear and legible fonts, sufficient color contrast, and readable font sizes, and regularly assessing and updating our website's accessibility features to adhere to best practices and guidelines, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Transparency and Disclosure
I believe in being transparent with my readers. Any sponsored content, affiliate links, or partnerships will be clearly disclosed. I do not accept free products or samples, and I purchase all of my own equipment and ingredients. I only recommend products I genuinely use and love. And you can always expect honest, unfiltered opinions from Everyday Family Eats.

We reserve the right to remove comments that violate this policy, but we're not responsible for their accuracy.
