Description

This 10-minute Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal is a quick and easy breakfast made with old-fashioned oats, maple syrup, raisins, cinnamon, and cream.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3-1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups old fashioned / rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for topping
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream, optional

Instructions

  1. Add water, maple syrup, salt and raisins to a medium pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, lower the heat to medium-low and add in the oats and cinnamon.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the oats have thickened up and are tender, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Shut off the heat and stir in the cream, if desired.
  5. Divide oatmeal into dishes, adding additional cinnamon and cream on top if desired.

Notes

You can use quick oats if you want, but the texture will be slightly different and you won't need to cook the oats for as long.
